The Sixth Spring

Will has lived in Five Springs all his life, suffocated by the small town and small-minded people. They all know that he’s… different. Not right. All Will can do is try and shrink himself down to nothing to avoid the whispers and judgement that follow him every day.

When a strange pull draws Will to the new spring at the construction site in his town, he finds Itori, a creature with scales and claws and glowing red eyes. An impossible monster that shouldn’t exist. Yet, despite his appearance, Itori has a gentleness to him, a sweetness when he touches Will that makes it hard for Will to stay away.

But as the construction of the land rolls on, it begins to threaten the spring Itori is tied to. Itori’s only hope for survival becomes gaining enough energy to walk on dry land to escape the dying spring. While Will desperately wants Itori to live, he also selfishly doesn’t want Itori to go. He’d never ask Itori to stay, Will just… doesn’t want to lose the one person who’s ever touched him, kissed him, seen him for who he really is.

Like Itori, Will is trapped in Five Springs. When Itori leaves him… what will Will have left?
